Job Overview

This role is responsible for overseeing financial management and accounting functions of an organization, ensuring accuracy, accountability, and compliance with various projects and entities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage financial planning, budgeting, and allocation of funds for various projects, adhering to donor agreements and internal policies.
  • Ensure all entities comply with relevant regulations, including ACFID, ACNC, and local laws.
  • Oversee bookkeeping, transaction recording, bank reconciliations, and general ledger management.
  • Ensure compliance with tax and other regulatory obligations, including filing requirements.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in financial management, accounting, or similar role.
  • Experience working with NGOs, social enterprises, or donor-funded projects preferred.
  • Strong understanding of accounting standards, financial controls, and compliance framework.

Preferred Skills:

  • Advanced knowledge producing financial accounts to balance sheet and income statement level.
  • Proficient in accounting software (e.g. QuickBooks/MYOB) and in Excel-based reporting.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, reporting, and problem-solving skills.
