Job Title: Medical File Reviewer/PHRN

Overview

The Medical File Reviewer/PHRN plays a critical role in preparing case files and Disability Benefits Questionnaires (DBQs) assigned in the client portal. This position requires strong communication skills to effectively assist veterans, medical providers, and colleagues.


Responsibilities
  • Prepares case files and DBQs for review and submission.
  • Reviews and bookmarks medical records and creates a synopsis to answer medical opinion questions based on the veteran's medical history.
  • Assists the medical provider during scheduled appointments by remotely accessing, navigating, and preparing different apps in the medical provider's computer.
  • Remotely interviews the veteran via video or telephone conference platform.
  • Transcribes the medical history based on the veteran's answers to the questions in the DBQ.
  • Documents all physical examination findings in the appropriate section of the DBQs.
  • Completes all sections of the DBQ spreadsheets after each appointment.
  • Meets with medical providers to discuss each assigned case and determine the final diagnosis per DBQ.
  • Submits DBQs in the client portal.
  • Answers queries/addendum reports from the client's QAs.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) and active PHRN license.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with veterans, medical providers, and colleagues.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Flexibility in work schedule changes as needed.
  • Accountability for all assigned cases.
  • Proficiency with MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Assist the Lead and/or Trainer in process improvement.

  • Backup internet with minimum 15 Mbps download and upload speeds.
