Bookkeeper with Construction Industry Experience



Job Description:

Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Bookkeeper to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a background in the construction industry and possess strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.

Responsibilities:

• Manage financial transactions, including accounts payable and receivable.

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of financial transactions in accounting software.

• Reconcile bank statements and prepare financial reports for management review.

• Assist in the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and financial statements.

• Process payroll and ensure compliance with tax regulations.

• Track invoices, expenses, and payments to ensure timely collections and disbursements.

• Ensure compliance with financial policies, procedures, and construction industry regulations.

• Assist in preparing documents for tax filings and audits.

• Coordinate with project managers to track costs and profitability for construction projects.

• Perform other finance-related tasks as required.


Required Skills and Qualifications:


• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.

• At least 2 years of experience as a bookkeeper or in a similar role.

• Familiarity with the construction industry and job costing is highly desirable.

• Strong knowledge of QuickBooks, Xero, or other accounting software.

• Excellent organizational and analytical skills.

• Strong English communication skills: Reading: High proficiency in reviewing financial documents.

Writing: Clear and professional documentation of financial transactions.

Speaking: Effective communication with clients and team members.

• High attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting.

• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.

• Tech-savvy with knowledge of cloud-based accounting tools.
