Job Summary

The role of a Credit Risk Specialist involves evaluating the creditworthiness of borrowers, analyzing financial statements and credit reports to assess risk.

  • Evaluate the financial stability and repayment capacity of borrowers, assessing their ability to cover debt service.
  • Analyze collateral value and marketability to determine its worth as security for loans.
  • Assess the financial health of borrower businesses through income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow analysis.

A successful candidate will have strong knowledge of commercial lending and be proficient in using lenders' servicing calculators to assess borrowing capacities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze credit applications, credit reports, and financial statements to assess creditworthiness.
  • Collaborate with loan officers and underwriters to structure loan terms that align with borrower needs while managing risk effectively.
  • Communicate credit decisions and loan terms to stakeholders.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in credit analysis or a similar role within the mortgage or finance industry.
  • Proficient in using financial analysis tools and CRM software.
