Job Title: Senior Accounting Professional

We are seeking an accomplished Senior Accountant to lead our accounting operations. The successful candidate will possess a strong understanding of UK accounting standards, regulations, and best practices.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Review the work of junior accountants to ensure accuracy and quality of financial statements, VAT returns, corporate tax returns, and other accounting deliverables before submission.
  • Oversee the preparation and submission of UK corporate tax returns, VAT returns, and P11Ds while ensuring regulatory compliance.
  • Supervise and review UK payroll processes, ensuring compliance with HMRC regulations.
  • Assist in preparing statutory accounts for UK limited companies in accordance with UK accounting standards.
  • Work closely with junior bookkeepers providing guidance and constructive feedback while ensuring deadlines are met.
  • Effectively liaise with clients regarding financial reports, tax matters, and compliance requirements.
  • Identify areas for improvements and implement best practices within the accounting workflow.
Requirements:
  • Experience in a UK accounting firm is essential.
  • Proven ability to review juniors' work, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • In-depth knowledge of UK corporate tax, VAT, P11Ds, and statutory accounts up until submission.
  • Extensive experience managing UK payroll and HMRC compliance.
  • Leadership and team delegation skills are required.
  • Strong working knowledge of Xero and other UK accounting software.
  • High level of accuracy, problem-solving ability, and analytical thinking.
  • Excellent communication skills, with strong English language proficiency (written and verbal).
