Job Title: Security Systems Administrator

At New York Security Solutions Inc., we are seeking a highly skilled Security Systems Administrator to join our team. As a key member of our IT department, you will be responsible for remotely managing and maintaining client IT and related security applications/systems, providing technical support and assistance to clients and internal staff.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Configure and manage a wide range of IT and Security solutions, including IT Networks, Video Surveillance, Physical Access Control, Servers, Storage Arrays, and system monitoring solutions.
  • Proactively manage system uptime on clients' solutions, using monitoring tools and addressing potential issues or platform outages.
  • Manage and follow Change Management Procedures, including software updates, patches, or changes.
  • Participate in product provisioning, including design, planning, coordinating, and implementation.
  • Manage basic operations and services for a site or multiple sites, including adds, moves, changes, monitoring, and reporting.
  • Monitor and manage daily inbound requests or service tickets to a successful completion.
  • Provide technical support to clients and company staff.
  • Assist field teams with troubleshooting existing systems or bringing new infrastructure online.
  • Create notes, documents, and reports in support of work performed.
  • Communicate with teams and clients, updating team leads, managers, or clients on the status of all work performed on a daily basis.
  • Work as a liaison with clients, co-workers, and sub-contractors.
  • Participate in a rotating on-call work schedule.
  • Develop new skills and knowledge as it applies to client systems or new services offered by the company.
  • Attend and pass manufacturer product certifications and training.
  • Provide training and support on product usage.
  • Participate in technical research and development to enable continuing innovation within the organization.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum 7 years' experience in Systems Administration, Help/Service Desk, or Programming.
  • Good understanding of software standards for Networking, Servers, and Applications.
  • Working understanding of Database Administration.
  • Working knowledge of Hardware, including Desktop, Laptop, and Mobile Computers, Servers, and Networks.
  • Expert knowledge of Microsoft and Linux operating platforms.
  • Knowledge of mainstream mobile operating systems.
  • LAN and internet conceptual knowledge and troubleshooting.
  • Problem-solving abilities with high attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication, motivational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work across different actions, departments, and time zones, and with different cultural backgrounds around the world.
  • Ability to develop a courteous and professional relationship with clients, co-workers, and sub-contractors.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently without prompting.
  • Ability to work overtime and occasional weekends with varying workloads and deadlines.
  • Technical degree or certification.
  • Past experience of attending manufacturer training classes for IT or Security Systems.
  • Ability to pass background check.
