OT Platform Engineer

We are seeking a seasoned infrastructure specialist to design and implement secure on-premises solutions for our enterprise.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain OpenShift clusters in on-prem environments with strict security protocols.
  • Design secure communication channels between network levels, ensuring seamless data transfer.
  • Establish air gap transfer strategies for code and artifacts, maintaining maximum security.
  • Implement Humanitec with ArgoCD for GitOps-style deployments with appropriate on-prem networking constraints, optimizing efficiency.
  • Create staging environments that accurately mirror production on-prem systems in AWS, facilitating smooth testing and deployment.
  • Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to implement defense-in-depth strategies, safeguarding against potential threats.
  • Establish robust change management processes for on-prem deployments, minimizing risks and downtime.
  • Design backup and disaster recovery strategies appropriate for each Purdue Model level, ensuring business continuity.
Requirements
  • Must-have skills:
  • Strong background in air-gapped and segmented network architectures, ensuring maximum security.
  • Experience with secure artifact management (JFrog Artifactory preferred), maintaining integrity.
  • Understanding of on-prem limitations (disconnected, latency, bandwidth constraints), adapting to challenges.
  • Experience with manual deployment processes and change control, streamlining operations.
  • Familiarity with vSphere and on-premises virtualization, leveraging technology.
  • Desirable skills:
  • Understanding of the Purdue Model and ISA-95 standards, applying industry knowledge.
  • Experience with mining or heavy industry operational environments, adapting to unique conditions.
  • Experience with industrial control systems and SCADA environments, managing complex infrastructure.
  • Knowledge of redundant system design for high availability, ensuring reliability.
  • Understanding of industrial protocols (OPC, Modbus, etc.), communicating effectively.
  • Experience with staging/production environment separation in OT, optimizing performance.
  • Knowledge of industrial cybersecurity frameworks (IEC 62443), adhering to regulations.
  • Knowledge of OT-specific security requirements and compliance standards, staying ahead of threats.
  • Container Platforms: OpenShift (On-prem) and EKS (AWS), harnessing cloud power.
  • Infrastructure: On-premises VMware vSphere, Docker Swarm, managing diverse systems.
  • Source Control: GitHub with secure synchronization, version controlling efficiently.
  • Monitoring: Industrial-grade observability tools, tracking performance closely.
  • Security: Air gap solutions, secure tunneling, RBAC, safeguarding data.
