Accounting Assistant Role

The Accounting Assistant plays a pivotal role in supporting the Accounting Department in maintaining accurate financial records, preparing reports, and assisting in day-to-day accounting operations. This role involves handling basic accounting tasks such as recording transactions, reconciling accounts, and assisting with payroll, tax, and audit requirements.

Responsibilities:
  • Record and post daily financial transactions into the accounting system, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Prepare journal entries, vouchers, and supporting schedules to facilitate smooth financial management.
  • Assist in the preparation of financial statements and management reports to inform business decisions.
  • Perform bank reconciliations and monitor cash balances to maintain optimal liquidity.
  • Check and process expense reports, reimbursements, and petty cash liquidation to ensure compliance with company policies.
  • Support accounts receivable and accounts payable functions to optimize cash flow.
  • Assist in monitoring compliance with statutory requirements, such as tax filings and audit regulations.
  • Maintain organized accounting files and documents to ensure easy access and retrieval.
  • Support internal and external audit requirements to ensure seamless audit processes.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accountancy, Finance, or a related field.
  • Preferably with 0–2 years of experience in accounting or finance, fresh graduates welcome.
  • Knowledge of basic accounting principles and practices.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel; familiarity with accounting software (e.g., NetSuite, QuickBooks) is an advantage.
  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
