Construction Safety Specialist Job

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Construction Safety Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the safety and compliance of our construction sites, developing site safety plans, and conducting regular safety inspections.

Job Description:

The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of safety regulations, proficiency in CAD drafting, and excellent communication skills. They will be responsible for:

  • Developing and producing detailed site safety plans using CAD software, ensuring compliance with OSHA codes, NYC DOB site safety rules, and other relevant safety regulations;
  • Conducting regular safety inspections and audits of construction sites to ensure compliance with safety regulations and standards;
  • Identifying potential safety hazards and taking corrective actions to mitigate risks;
  • Providing technical support and guidance to project teams regarding site safety and compliance;
  • Staying updated with changes in safety regulations and industry best practices and ensuring all site activities adhere to safety standards.
Requirements:

To be considered for this role, you will need:

  • Proven experience as a Construction Safety Specialist or in a similar safety role, preferably in the construction industry;
  • Proficiency in using CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD) for drafting and design;
  • Strong knowledge of site safety plans, OSHA codes, and NYC DOB site safety rules and requirements;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills;
  • Attention to detail and the ability to identify and address safety hazards proactively;
  • Ability to conduct effective safety training sessions;
  • Strong organizational and time management skills;
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with project teams.
