Position Overview

The Construction Safety Coordinator will serve as the primary safety officer on-site, responsible for implementing and monitoring safety programs, policies, and compliance measures during construction projects. Acting as the point of contact (POC) between the company and third-party construction firms, this role ensures that all work activities meet local regulations, company standards, and multinational corporate (MNC) safety requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and coordinate the execution of construction site safety policies and procedures.
  • Act as the liaison between the company and construction contractors, ensuring alignment on safety protocols and reporting requirements.
  • Conduct safety orientations, toolbox talks, and training sessions for site personnel and contractors.
  • Monitor daily site activities to identify unsafe practices, potential hazards, and non-compliance issues.
  • Ensure the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and compliance with safety signage, permits, and protocols.
  • Support incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective/preventive action planning.
  • Maintain accurate and updated records of safety inspections, audits, and compliance reports.
  • Collaborate with project managers and engineers to integrate operational safety requirements into project execution.
  • Promote a safety-first culture consistent with multinational corporate (MNC) best practices and local regulatory frameworks.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Occupational Safety, or related field.
  • Preferably with Construction Safety Officer (COSH) or equivalent safety certification.
  • Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in construction or industrial safety, preferably in an MNC or large-scale project setting.
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA, DOLE, and other relevant safety regulations and standards.
  • Excellent communication and coordination skills to serve as POC between client and contractors.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive compliance and foster a safety culture across multidisciplinary teams.
