Reports To: Safety Manager / Project Manager

Location: Angeles, Pampanga - Casino Project

Job Summary

The Safety Officer is responsible for ensuring compliance with occupational health and safety (OHS) guidelines, laws, and company policies. The role involves conducting risk assessments, implementing safety protocols, training personnel, and monitoring workplace conditions to prevent accidents and injuries.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and maintain safety policies, procedures, and programs in compliance with local regulations and industry standards.
  • Conduct regular safety inspections, audits, and risk assessments on-site.
  • Ensure all workers comply with Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements.
  • Investigate incidents, accidents, and near-misses, and prepare detailed reports with recommendations for corrective action.
  • Facilitate toolbox meetings, safety orientations, and training sessions.
  • Monitor site activities to identify potential hazards and ensure proper safety measures are applied.
  • Coordinate with government agencies for safety compliance requirements (e.g., DOLE, OSHC).
  • Maintain updated safety records, permits, and documentation.
  • Assist in emergency preparedness planning and drills.
  • Promote a safety-first culture among employees and subcontractors.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Engineering, or related field (preferred).
  • Valid BOSH (Basic Occupational Safety and Health) or COSHO (Construction Occupational Safety and Health) certification from DOLE-accredited training.
  • At least 2–3 years experience as a Safety Officer, preferably in construction or industrial settings.
  • Knowledge of local safety regulations, standards, and codes.
  • Strong communication, training, and reporting skills.
  • Ability to work in high-risk environments and under pressure.
