  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Developmental & Line Editing: Enhance pacing, characterization, and trope delivery while maintaining voice.
  • Scene Drafting: Write seamless new material when needed, matching the author's style.
  • Copyediting: Ensure every line is clean, consistent, and immersive.
  • Genre Coaching: Keep heat levels, payoffs, and beats aligned with contemporary romance expectations.
  • Collaboration: Deliver feedback via tracked changes, editorial letters, and occasional live calls.
  • Multi-Project Management: Balance multiple manuscripts while maintaining high editorial standards.
Requirements
  • 3+ years of professional editing experience in contemporary romance.
  • 3+ published romance novels edited (please provide ISBNs or retailer links).
  • Strong ghostwriting or scene drafting experience.
  • Advanced command of grammar, dialogue pacing, and formatting.
  • Ability to spot sagging middles, sharpen arcs, and elevate tropes.
  • A deep love for romance – you know the difference between a HEA and a HFN, and why it matters.
