Financial Operations Specialist

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced professional to manage the day-to-day accounting operations for multiple portfolio companies. This role will be responsible for maintaining full-cycle accounting, recording journal entries, performing account reconciliations, and preparing financial statements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain full-cycle accounting for multiple portfolio companies across manufacturing, distribution, and real estate sectors.
  • Record journal entries, perform account reconciliations, and prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Manage accounts payable/accounts receivable, general ledger maintenance, and bank reconciliations.
  • Assist with budget preparation, forecasts, and variance analyses.
  • Support audits and tax preparation processes in coordination with external auditors and tax advisors.
  • Ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and internal controls.
  • Liaise with stakeholders and service providers to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
  • Utilize enterprise resource planning (ERP) software to process and manage financial data.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to drive efficiency and accuracy.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or progress toward CPA preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of accounting experience, preferably in a multi-client or multi-entity environment.
  • Preferably with experience in construction pay applications and bank draws.
  • Real estate experience is essential.
  • Industry experience in manufacturing and distribution strongly preferred.
  • Proficiency with ERP software required.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and internal controls.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • High level of integrity and attention to detail.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience working in private equity or investment firm environments.
  • Familiarity with consolidations and intercompany transactions.
  • Advanced Excel skills.
