About the RoleAs a detail-oriented and dependable Staff Accountant, you will be responsible for preparing financial reports, maintaining accurate general ledgers, managing daily accounting tasks, and assisting in month-end closings. This role is crucial in helping ensure financial accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with U.S. accounting standards (GAAP). The ideal candidate should have a strong knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, cost accounting, and cost control principles, as well as experience working remotely for a U.S.-based accounting firm.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in preparing monthly financial statements (Balance Sheet, P&L, Cash Flow)
  • Perform journal entries, reconciliations, and ensure accuracy in general ledger accounts
  • Process and review accounts payable and receivable transactions
  • Generate accurate financial reports and analyses for review by clients and senior staff
  • Assist in preparing budgets, forecasts, and variance reports
  • Maintain up-to-date records and ensure documentation supports reported balances

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting required.
  • 3+ years of corporate accounting experience.
  • Experience working remotely for a U.S.-based accounting firm.
  • Strong knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, cost accounting, and cost control principles.
  • Advanced knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting best practices, U.S. GAAP, laws, standards, and state/national regulations.
  • Solid experience with QuickBooks Online (certification a plus).
  • Advanced proficiency with spreadsheet software (MS Excel and Google Sheets).
