Product Data Analyst Job Description

This role revolves around dissecting digital product usage patterns, defining pivotal metrics, and collaborating with analytics tools like Pendo, Amplitude, or Segment. Your work directly influences feature adoption, customer engagement, and roadmap prioritization.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Analyze user behavior to identify trends, pain points, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Define, track, and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) such as activation, retention, and engagement.
  • Conduct in-depth analyses of new feature adoption, A/B test results, and product experiments.
Data Modeling & Instrumentation
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to define and validate tracking requirements.
  • Ensure accurate data collection through analytics tools like Segment, Pendo, Amplitude, Mixpanel, or Google Analytics.
  • Maintain data quality and resolve inconsistencies.
Stakeholder Collaboration
  • Translate business questions into structured analysis and communicate findings clearly.
  • Create intuitive dashboards and self-serve tools for data access across teams.
  • Collaborate closely with product teams to integrate insights into roadmap and feature decisions.
Strategic Decision Support
  • Support product strategy with market benchmarking, customer segmentation, and cohort analysis.
  • Prioritize product opportunities based on quantitative impact and user need.
RequirementsEssential Skills:
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in product analytics, business intelligence, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in SQL, Python, JavaScript, and experience with analytics tools.
  • Understanding of user lifecycle metrics and product analytics concepts.
  • Strong communication skills – able to explain complex findings clearly.
Preferred Skills:
  • Experience with product analytics tools like Pendo, Amplitude, Mixpanel, or Segment.
  • Familiarity with A/B testing design and interpretation.
  • Exposure to event-based tracking tools.
  • Comfortable working in agile environments and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
