Job Overview

The NOC Engineer is a pivotal role at the forefront of alert and request resolution. This position serves as the primary point of contact for end-users, vendors, and customers, providing timely and effective support for issues related to devices, cloud technologies, and network infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Resolve alerts and requests efficiently, focusing on user devices, circuit downs, temperature/water alerts, Cloud alerts, and SOC alerts.
  • Communicate with vendors and customers to coordinate maintenance, repair, and patch remediation, ensuring seamless service delivery.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive process improvements and recommend innovative solutions to enhance service outcomes.
  • Maintain documentation, update knowledge bases, and create new content to support team operations and customer engagement.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Deep understanding of Microsoft Windows Desktop and Server OS, with a focus on troubleshooting desktop issues.
  • General familiarity with currently-supported versions of Windows, emphasizing OS and app patching, upgrades, and failure remediation.
  • Cloud product and technology expertise, including Microsoft 365, Azure, SharePoint/OneDrive, Exchange Online, and Amazon AWS.
  • Identity management, authorization, and security skills, encompassing Azure AD, Okta, and EMM/MDM tools like InTune and AirWatch.
  • Strong networking comprehension, including TCP/IP, VPN, DNS, DHCP, and diagnostic toolkits for Layer 1-3 functionality.
  • Security expertise, involving SIEM/SOC providers, Anti-Virus, and robust incident response capabilities.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to converse in conversational English and provide clear explanations of technical concepts.
  • Minimum 3 years of general IT experience in server, infrastructure support, and networking/circuits, with a strong foundation in ITIL-based Service Operations.
  • Prior experience in an MSP/Consultancy environment is desirable, along with skills in scripting languages like PowerShell, Automate Script, and Azure Functions.
Desirable Qualities:
  • Strong knowledge of RMM tools such as ConnectWise Automate, SolarWinds, Nagios, CloudWatch, or Zabbix.
  • Ability to design monitors and scripts to address faults automatically and improve overall service efficiency.
  • Certifications in relevant fields, such as CompTIA A+, Server+, Network+ or similar.
