Accounting Specialist (Property Operations)

As an Accounting Specialist, you will play a vital role in supporting the accounting and financial operations of our multifamily real estate assets. This position requires a detail-oriented and proactive individual who can record and categorize transactions across multiple entities, maintain general ledgers, and prepare account reconciliations.

Responsibilities
  • Record and categorize transactions across multiple entities in Yardi software
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date general ledgers and reconcile accounts regularly
  • Manage bank activity by initiating, tracking, and confirming intercompany and external transfers and wires
  • Process payments and disbursements accurately and efficiently
  • Reconcile corporate credit card activity and ensure accurate expense tracking
  • Monitor accounts payable and receivable activity across properties and entities
  • Assist with entity-level financial statement preparation and monthly close procedures
  • Support other members of the accounting team with cross-functional initiatives
  • Respond to internal and external inquiries with timely and accurate financial data
  • Complete special projects as assigned by senior management or controller
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field such as accounting, finance, or business administration
  • Prior experience in real estate, corporate multi-entity environments is a plus
  • Experience with Yardi software is strongly preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently
