Job Overview

The Accounting Manager role is a senior-level position responsible for overseeing all aspects of financial reporting, planning, and analysis. The successful candidate will be tasked with ensuring legal and regulatory compliance for all accounting and financial reporting functions.

  • Overseeing audits, cost and general accounting, budgeting, accounts receivable/collection, and billing are key responsibilities of the Accounting Manager. This includes preparing financial reports for management and outside agencies on a monthly, quarterly, yearly basis, as well as performing project life-cycle cost analysis and reviewing sales and marketing expenditures, sales orders, and purchase orders.

  • Providing and interpreting financial information and developing financial management mechanisms that minimize financial risk is another critical aspect of this role. The Accounting Manager will also coordinate internal and external audits and prepare fiscal documentation.

  • Additionally, the Accounting Manager will be responsible for managing the company's financial accounting, monitoring, and reporting systems, including budgeting and forecasting. Monitoring and interpreting cash flows and predicting future trends will also be a key responsibility.

  • The Accounting Manager will oversee the Finance and Accounting team, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, invoicing, bank and account reconciliations, billing, coding, and payments. Federal and state tax reporting's, quarterly and year-end closing will also fall under their purview.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor's Degree in accounting or finance is required for this role. A CPA certification is also highly desirable. Direct experience with USA accounting systems and at least 5 years of experience in managing full accounting duties in a medium- or large-size company are essential.

  • Advanced knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and experience with ERP accounting software, Microsoft Dynamics are also necessary skills. Strong analytical and mathematical skills, as well as high professional standards and ethics, are also required.

  • Excellent communications skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks at one time are also crucial for success in this role. Performance management of support staff and direct experience coordinating internal and external audits are also important qualifications.
