Staff Accountant Role Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Staff Accountant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have expertise in supervising general accounting operations, controlling financial transactions, and reconciling account balances and bank statements. This role requires strong analytical skills, excellent knowledge of accounting principles, and experience in managing accountants and junior analysts.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Financial Transactions Management: Review and manage accounts payable and receivable.
  • Financial Data Analysis: Review and analyze financial data, create reports on financial status based on analysis results, and present them to senior management.
  • Accounting Reports: Develop timely and accurate accounting reports for executives and senior management.
  • Process Optimization: Identify areas for process improvement and develop recommendations to optimize company's accounting systems and procedures.
  • Employee Support: Provide guidance and support to employees on accounting control procedures.
  • Team Supervision: Supervise accounting assistants and bookkeepers, plan their work, and assign tasks.

Requirements:
  • Experience: 3+ years' experience working as a Financial Controller, Accounting Supervisor, Chief, or Senior Accountant.
  • Accounting Skills: Profound experience with typical accounting procedures, including general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process.
  • Education: Good knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and a BS degree in Accounting, Finance, or relevant certifications such as CMA or CPA.
  • Software Skills: Practical experience with accounting software packages, such as FreshBooks and QuickBooks.
