Job Summary

The Legal Compliance Specialist coordinates corporate housekeeping activities and ensures compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.

This role involves collating documents from various stakeholders, submitting corporate documents in relation to compliance requirements, and monitoring deadlines for compliance.

The position holder contributes to the implementation of legal strategies and the smooth operation of day-to-day activities of the Legal and Compliance Team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conducts comprehensive research on legal, regulatory, and compliance issues related to industry and non-industry matters.
  • Assists in due diligence on land and other legal matters as needed.
  • Coordinates with external counsel for legal and compliance issues.
  • Implements strategies for compliance monitoring and audit to ensure timely compliance with all permits, contracts, agreements, and compliance issues for all ARIBUs.
  • Drafts contracts, legal opinions, agreements, and other legal documents as needed for review by Team Leaders.
  • Stays current on relevant industry and government compliance programs related to renewable energy and provides updates on changes in legislation, regulations, and other requirements that may result in organizational responses.
  • Attends public consultations with relevant external stakeholders to represent ARI interests as required by Team Leaders.
  • Facilitates timely completion of compliance matters by coordinating with relevant internal teams for submissions.
  • Ensures regular coordination of legal and compliance issues with identified stakeholders to ensure open communication lines.
  • Ensures and implements proper profiling of legal documents, compliance, and permits under the guidance of Team Leaders.
  • Regularly reports progress of all legal and compliance issues to Team Leaders.
  • Coordinates with other internal departments for necessary information or assistance required for timely submission of all legal and compliance requirements.
