Job Title: Real Estate Accountant

We are seeking an experienced Real Estate Accounting Professional with extensive knowledge of AppFolio and QuickBooks Online. This role is crucial in managing financial transactions, ensuring accuracy in accounting records, and providing valuable financial insights to support business decisions.

  • Manage day-to-day accounting functions for real estate properties, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries.
  • Utilize AppFolio to manage property accounting, tenant ledgers, rent payments, owner statements, and property reports.
  • Maintain and reconcile accounts using QuickBooks Online to ensure accurate financial data.
  • Process monthly bank reconciliations and resolve any discrepancies promptly.
  • Financial Planning and Analysis: Prepare and analyze financial reports, budgets, and forecasts for management review.
  • Assist with year-end audits and tax preparation.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting principles, company policies, and applicable regulations.
  • Collaborate with property managers and other team members to ensure smooth financial operations.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Proven Experience: Proven experience in Real Estate Accounting.
  • AppFolio Expertise: Extensive hands-on experience with AppFolio required.
  • QuickBooks Online Skills: Strong QuickBooks Online skills with proven track record of accurate bookkeeping.
  • Real Estate Financial Knowledge: In-depth understanding of real estate financial workflows, including rent collection, owner payouts, and property expense tracking.
  • Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Attention to Detail: Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.
  • Independence and Time Management: Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
