Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Real Estate Accounting professional to manage our company's financial transactions, ensure accuracy in accounting records, and provide valuable financial insights to support business decisions.

Responsibilities
  • Manage day-to-day accounting functions for real estate properties, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries.
  • Utilize specialized software to manage property accounting, tenant ledgers, rent payments, owner statements, and property reports.
  • Maintain and reconcile accounts using QuickBooks Online to ensure accurate financial data.
  • Process monthly bank reconciliations and resolve any discrepancies promptly.
  • Prepare and analyze financial reports, budgets, and forecasts for management review.
  • Assist with year-end audits and tax preparation.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting principles, company policies, and applicable regulations.
  • Collaborate with property managers and other team members to ensure smooth financial operations.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Proven experience in Real Estate Accounting
  • Extensive hands-on experience with AppFolio (required)
  • Strong QuickBooks Online skills with proven track record of accurate bookkeeping
  • In-depth understanding of real estate financial workflows, including rent collection, owner payouts, and property expense tracking
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
