Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Business Development Consultant to join our team. As a key member of our sales team, you will be responsible for promoting our services to Registered Investment Advisors and growing existing client revenue.

This role requires strong leadership skills, excellent communication and negotiation abilities, and a proven track record of success in sales and business development.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Represent Orion in its sales efforts to promote its services to Registered Investment Advisors.
  • Collaborate with sales management to develop and execute territory sales plans.
  • Develop new revenue opportunities and capitalize on referrals to increase sales in the territory.
  • Ensure receipt of excellent customer service with RIA firms and their advisors.
Requirements:
  • Has excellent knowledge of financial services offerings and company policies and procedures.
  • Possess demonstrated ability to interact, listen, influence and partner in a professional and engaging manner with high-level decision-makers.
  • Leadership skills to provide a positive work environment, which encourages and expects teamwork, motivation, efficiency and maximum utilization of staff skills.
  • Strong sales skills required: negotiation and persuasion, up-selling, closing, follow-up, relationship building and networking in order to persuade others of the value of a product/solution.
  • Has minimum of a bachelor's degree in Business Administration, or related field.
  • Obtain Orion Industry Certification.
  • Has Series 65 license.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a field-based territory sales position selling financial services offerings to Registered Investment Advisors.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience building and maintaining a customer account base.
  • Preferably has experience in the financial planning industry.
Location Requirements:

The ideal candidate must reside in the NE territory: CT, DE, MD, MA, NJ, NY, PA, or RI.
