Future-Focused Observability Specialist

This role will play a pivotal part in shaping the future of observability, working closely with cross-functional teams to design, build, and deploy an observability solution that aligns with our company's vision and strategy.

  • Develop and maintain observability capabilities as part of our DevOps toolkit.
  • Collaborate with application teams to integrate the observability solution into delivery pipelines and application codebases.
  • Ensure adherence to process, quality, and architectural design through effective communication with governance streams.
Responsibilities:
  • Deliver against both functional and non-functional requirements.
  • Take ownership/accountability for development of key features and drive them to completion.
  • Communicate progress effectively and raise impediments early to minimize impact on delivery.
  • Participate in incident management to ensure production defects are rectified based on their criticality and severity.
Requirements:
  • Understanding of observability pillars and knowledge of tools such as Grafana, Prometheus, OpenSearch, and CloudWatch.
  • Hands-on experience in deploying and managing AWS resources.
  • Demonstrate current experience of hands-on full-stack software engineering using Java, C#, TypeScript, JavaScript, Python, and PowerShell.
  • Experience of application lifecycle management tools and technologies such as source code management (git), DevOps platforms (GitLab, TeamCity, Sonatype Nexus).
