We are seeking a talented Observability Engineer to join our team.

The ideal candidate will have experience integrating OpenTelemetry into software applications and building and maintaining an Observability Platform as part of DevOps Tooling and Capabilities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design, build, deploy, and maintain an Observability solution that aligns with our IT strategy and vision.
  • Integrate the Observability solution into delivery pipelines and application codebase across teams.
  • Communicate with governance streams to ensure adherence to process, quality, and architectural design.
  • Deliver against functional and non-functional requirements, taking ownership and accountability for development of key features.
  • Communicate effectively on progress and ensure impediments are raised early to minimize impact on delivery.
  • Participate in incident management to ensure production defects are rectified based on criticality and severity.

Experience / Competences

Essential

  • Understanding of Observability pillars and knowledge of tools such as Grafana, Prometheus, OpenSearch, and CloudWatch.
  • Hands-on experience deploying and managing AWS resources.
  • Current experience of hands-on Full-Stack Software Engineering using Java, C#, Typescript, JavaScript, Python, or PowerShell.
  • Experience of Application Lifecycle Management Tools and technologies such as Source Code Management; Git, DevOps platforms; Gitlab, TeamCity, Sonatype Nexus.
  • Experience of monitoring application as well as infrastructure in both non-production and production systems.

Desired

  • Experience using and setting up enterprise-level Monitoring tools.
  • OpenTelemetry – instrumentation and use of OTEL solutions.
  • APM Experience - AppDynamics DataDog Dynatrace.
  • AWS OpenSearchElastic, and ingestion tooling Crbl.
  • Grafana & Prometheus.
  • Knowledge and use of Cloud Technologies and concepts preferably on AWS or Azure/GCP etc.
  • Experience utilizing Dev(Sec)Ops to automate and minimize delivery times from Development to Production.
