As a Senior Backend Developer, you will design, build, and optimize robust backend systems and APIs behind our high-performing applications using Python, SQL, and AWS. This involves delivering scalable solutions while exploring geospatial data and observability tools.

Key Responsibilities
  • Engineer at Scale: Design, develop, and maintain high-performance backend systems and APIs optimized for speed and growth.
  • Shape Access: Build and manage secure, reliable, and efficient public-facing APIs.
  • Automate Everything: Own CI/CD pipelines that power continuous integration and deployment.
  • Stay Observant: Implement best-in-class monitoring and observability using tools like Datadog or New Relic.
  • Collaborate to Innovate: Partner with frontend developers, product teams, and stakeholders to align backend architecture with business goals.
Requirements
  • 5+ years of backend development experience, building and scaling public-facing APIs.
  • Solid experience in Flask or FastAPI, with knowledge of RESTful APIs.
  • Highly skilled in SQL and PostgreSQL, with ideal PostGIS experience for geospatial data.
  • Familiarity with spatial mapping tools (like Mapbox) or GIS concepts.
  • AWS environment expertise (API Gateway, Lambda, Serverless) and production-ready system shipping.
  • Microservices and event-driven workflows understanding, including webhooks.
  • Observability value with real-world experience using Datadog, New Relic, or similar.
  • CI/CD champion with pipeline building skills.
