Job Overview

The IT Infrastructure Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, maintaining, and securing the organisation's IT infrastructure. This includes Windows environments, Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Azure, Intune, Defender, and Purview.

Main Responsibilities
  • Windows Server Management: Manage and maintain Windows Server environments, including Active Directory, Group Policy, and DNS/DHCP.
  • Microsoft 365 Administration: Oversee and administer Microsoft 365 services, including Exchange Online, SharePoint, OneDrive, and Teams.
  • Identity and Access Management: Configure and manage Entra ID (Azure Active Directory) for identity and access management.
  • Endpoint Management and Security: Deploy and optimise Microsoft Intune for endpoint management and security.
  • Cloud Infrastructure: Support and maintain cloud infrastructure within Azure, including virtual machines, networking, and security configurations.
Additional Tasks
  • Security Implementation: Implement and manage Microsoft Defender for endpoint, identity, and cloud security.
  • Compliance and Data Governance: Work with Microsoft Purview to ensure compliance, data governance, and security policies.
  • Security Best Practices: Assist in implementing security best practices, vulnerability management, and patching strategies.
Technical Requirements
  • Support and Monitoring: Provide technical support for escalated infrastructure-related incidents and service requests.
  • System Performance: Monitor system performance, availability, and security through proactive monitoring tools.
  • Disaster Recovery: Ensure regular backups and disaster recovery plans are in place and tested.
Continuous Improvement
  • Automation: Automate IT processes using PowerShell, Azure Automation, and other scripting tools.
  • Infrastructure as Code: Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions using Terraform, ARM templates, or similar.
  • Optimisation: Drive continuous improvement and optimisation of IT infrastructure and cloud resources.
