Technical Operations Specialist

This is a unique opportunity to join a fast-paced team as a Technical Operations Specialist. As a key member of our IT operations team, you will be responsible for the preparation and support of IT solutions and services, physical or virtual. This involves ensuring that our IT infrastructure functions according to industry best practices, standards, service requirements, and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) throughout the product life cycle.


Responsibilities
  • Ensure IT infrastructure services meet Service Level Agreements (SLAs)
  • Maintain (patch/troubleshoot/document) and monitor physical and virtual network/server/cloud infrastructure environments with a focus on security
  • Install and test new solutions and enhancements to existing solutions in both test and production environments
  • Diagnose and resolve issues in accordance with published SLAs and in a customer-focused manner
  • Manage fault escalation and change requests to relevant parties, ensuring timely and appropriate responses
  • Be an escalation point for fault resolution for Service Desk Engineers and provide 24/7 support as required
  • Engage in project planning, implementation, and rollout, providing expert advice when necessary
  • Stay up-to-date with technical skills to perform the role effectively in a dynamic business environment

Qualifications & Requirements
  • Previous experience working in a Technical Operations role or similar technical IT position
  • Previous experience working in a 3rd line corporate enterprise cloud & hybrid infrastructure environment within a fast-paced agile setting
  • Strong knowledge of varied aspects of corporate hybrid enterprise IT infrastructure & networking – good TCP/IP networking & routing knowledge
  • Proven skillset to include Server 2012 to 2022; DHCP; DNS; vSphere; MS Azure/AD/Entra; M365 (EXO/Teams etc.); Group Policy; Firewalling
  • Datacentre server hardware support, build, and configuration
  • Demonstrably comfortable working independently and as part of a larger team
  • Demonstrable broad-ranging troubleshooting expertise
  • Familiarity and acceptance of ITIL standards and associated change management disciplines
  • Confident in applying security hardening to various infrastructure components

  • Networking skills to a CCNA level
  • AWS/GCP
  • Version Control (Git)
  • SSL Certificate Authorities
