Senior SQL Database Administrator Job

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior SQL Database Administrator to join our team. As a key member of our Database practice, you will provide technical consulting and managed services to a wide range of customers locally in Australia and New Zealand.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Microsoft SQL Server databases, with experience in implementations, upgrades, migrations, conversions, and consolidation projects. You should be proficient in administering database security, data recovery, performance monitoring, and tuning on both On Prem and Cloud platforms.

This role requires excellent problem-solving and performance tuning skills, as well as the ability to work closely with other technical specialists and team members. You should be able to manage competing priorities in a complex environment and communicate effectively with clients to understand business requirements and design architecture.

Key Responsibilities:
  • SQL Server database administration, including all SQL HA and DR technologies
  • Install and configuration of SQL DB engine, SSIS, SSAS & SSRS
  • SQL performance tuning and investigation
  • SQL Server upgrades, downgrades, and migrations (In-place / Side-by-Side upgradation)
  • SQL Patching
  • SQL Logshipping, Database Mirroring Replication, and Always On
  • Azure SQL Database Administration with On Prem, Azure Pass, Azure Managed Instances, AWS EC2, and AWS RDS instances
  • SQL Server migration from on prem to cloud-based assets like Azure Pass, AWS EC2, and AWS RDS instances
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Minimum 8 years of experience as a database administrator with Microsoft SQL Server databases
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to make quick and accurate decisions
  • Excellent problem-solving and performance tuning skills
Mandatory Skills:
  • Technical skills and experience required
  • Strong experience with Microsoft SQL Server databases ranging from SQL 2005 to SQL 2022 on Windows platforms
  • Obtain SQL MS certification and become familiar with working within an ITIL framework
  • Design and build specific database environments to meet business requirements
  • Proficient in writing and optimizing SQL statements
