NPI Sourcing Specialist Job Description

As a strategic sourcing specialist, you will be responsible for executing RFQs, cost and terms analysis, and negotiations with suppliers. You will also upload supply base vendor master information to ERP and/or other business systems.

Responsibilities:
  • Execute procurement requests, conduct cost and terms analysis, and negotiate with suppliers.
  • Manage and maintain accurate vendor data within the enterprise resource planning system and other relevant systems.
  • Collaborate with global category management on new supplier identification and qualification.
  • Develop and implement NPI sourcing strategies in partnership with cross-functional teams.
  • Initiate capital asset requests and manage tooling requirements as needed.
  • Engage early with suppliers during new design and product introduction phases.
  • Facilitate technical discussions with design teams and suppliers for design for manufacturability reviews.
  • Support engineering sample and prototype requirements with suppliers and ensure timely delivery.
  • Contribute to cost reduction and analysis initiatives to maintain competitiveness of NPI models.
  • Access various business systems including Oracle, SAP, PDM, SharePoint, ESQR workflow tool, and others.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 3–5 years of purchasing experience in sourcing or procurement, preferably in a manufacturing environment with exposure to NPI projects.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to make informed decisions based on data.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with internal teams and external suppliers.
  • Ability to navigate complex situations with limited process constraints.
  • Collaborative and approachable interpersonal style with strong relationship-building skills.
  • Proficiency in using SAP or Oracle ERP systems is a plus.
  • Good PC skills – Microsoft Office proficiency.
