Job Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Junior Accountant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting standards.

The Junior Accountant will support the accounting team in managing financial transactions, preparing reports, and maintaining accurate financial records. This role involves assisting senior accountants with day-to-day accounting tasks, including financial statement preparation, reconciliations, and budget tracking.

  • Financial Reporting & Recordkeeping

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Assist in preparing financial reports, including financial statements and budget performance reports.

  • Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end closings.

  • Maintain organized and up-to-date financial records for easy retrieval and compliance.

  • Accounting Operations

Responsibilities include:

  • Post and process journal entries to record all business transactions.

  • Update accounts receivable, issue invoices, and follow up on overdue payments.

  • Update accounts payable and perform reconciliations.

  • Process balance sheets, income statements, and other financial statements in compliance with legal and company requirements.

  • Review expenses, payroll records, and other assigned transactions.

  • Audit, Tax, and Compliance Support

Additional responsibilities include:

  • Assist with tax audits, tax returns, and other compliance requirements.

  • Prepare and submit weekly or monthly reports for internal and external use.

  • Budgeting & Forecasting

Key responsibilities include:

  • Support the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts.

  • Collaborate with the accounting team to track performance against budgets.

  • System & Process Management

Key skills and qualifications include:

  • Use bookkeeping software, spreadsheets, and databases to organize financial data.

  • Ensure financial information is accurate, updated, and readily available.

  • Identify process improvement opportunities to enhance efficiency.

  • Collaboration & Confidentiality

Requirements include:

  • Work closely with senior accountants to compile and analyze financial data.

  • Maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive financial information.

  • Assist with ad-hoc accounting projects as needed.

To be considered for this role, you must have a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, and at least 2 years experience in Accounting, Finance roles. You should also have good analytical skills, attention to detail, and proficiency in MS Office. Familiarity with accounting software (e.g., SAP) is a plus.
