Financial Specialist

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented accounting professional to join our team. As an Intermediate Staff Accountant, you will be responsible for managing engagement work from planning through completion with minimal supervision.
Key responsibilities include building and maintaining strong client relationships by understanding client business models and providing timely communication via phone and email. You will also participate in planning meetings and contribute to engagement strategy with input from senior team members.
The ideal candidate will have experience with Microsoft 365, cloud storage, and Adobe PDF tools. Proficiency with CCH iFirm, Caseware, Taxprep, QBO, and Adobe is also required.
You will be expected to prepare compiled financial statements (NTR), note disclosures where applicable, and corporate tax returns (T2). Additionally, you will prepare internal-use-only financial statements and monitor deadlines for tax filings, bank reporting, and other key deliverables.
As an Intermediate Staff Accountant, you will also be responsible for preparing HST/GST returns, WSIB annual returns, and EHT returns. You will perform GL account reviews for reasonability and accurate allocations, reconcile Canadian investment accounts, and track tax-reporting data for capital assets.
The successful candidate will possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to manage competing deadlines and balance multiple engagements.
