The Position:
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Accounting Manager to lead our financial operations. This critical role involves ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial records, managing the accounting team, and providing timely and insightful financial reporting to leadership. The ideal candidate should possess a strong understanding of accounting principles and be proactive in solving problems.
Key Accountabilities:
- Financial Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
- General Ledger Administration: Oversee the maintenance and accuracy of the general ledger, ensuring proper coding and classification of transactions.
- Accounts Payable and Receivable Management: Manage the accounts payable and receivable functions, ensuring timely processing of invoices and payments.
- Budget Planning and Forecasting: Develop and manage the annual budget, prepare financial forecasts, and monitor performance against budget.
- Cash Flow Management: Manage cash flow, including bank reconciliations, and ensure adequate funding for operations.
- Month-End and Year-End Closing Process: Manage the month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring timely and accurate completion.
- Internal Control Implementation: Implement and maintain strong internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
- Team Supervision and Guidance: Supervise and mentor the accounting team, providing guidance and support.
- Audit Support: Coordinate with external auditors during the annual audit process.
- Compliance and Regulatory Requirements: Ensure compliance with all relevant tax regulations and reporting requirements.
- Process Enhancement: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy in accounting operations.
- Client Profitability Analysis: Analyze client profitability and provide insights to management.
- Project Costing: Oversee project costing and provide analysis on project profitability.
Requirements and Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance. CPA designation is a plus.
- 3-5 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in an advertising agency or related industry.
- Strong understanding of GAAP and other relevant accounting standards.
- Proven experience in financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and cash management.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, etc.) and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Detail-oriented and highly organized.
- Experience with project costing and client profitability analysis is preferred.
