As a piping designer, you will handle all aspects of piping design and drafting, including 3D routing, support placement, and creating fabrication/installation drawings. Your primary responsibilities will include:

  2. Performing piping drafting/design tasks, such as determining the location of pipe supports and creating Isometric drawings necessary for the fabrication and installation of piping systems.">
  3. Reading and interpreting equipment drawings and technical data from third-party vendors.">
  4. Developing, quantifying, and organizing piping material take-offs (MTOs).">
  5. Following company CAD standards and client piping specifications.">
  6. Ensuring design compliance with respective client/company specification and codes.">
  7. Checking and back-checking drawings produced by drafting.">
  8. Interacting with designers and engineers within the engineering group, and from other disciplines, in a team environment to create multi-discipline design packages for construction.">
  9. Working within company policy as outlined in the H+M Employee Handbook, Safety Manual, and OSHA Safety rules.">
  10. Interface with designers from other disciplines to provide a complete 3D model that meets project requirements.">
  11. Understanding and updating P&ID's.">

To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • ">
  • 10 years of experience with AutoCAD, CADWorx, and Navisworks in heavy industrial projects.">
  • Experience with point cloud software such as Autodesk Recap or CloudWorx.">
  • Clash detection is a plus.">
  • Strong technical, written, and verbal skills, along with a strong customer service attitude.">
  • A thorough understanding and efficiency with standard design and drafting practices.">
  • Knowledge of code and plant-specific standards.">
  • A strong background in process plant design, from conceptual design to plant layout and design of process and utility piping systems.">
  • Process and utility piping specifications and codes knowledge.">
  • Ability to visualize and layout process plants and piping in 3D.">
  • Ability to develop and work from P&ID's for use in plant layout & piping design.">
