Accounting Specialist Role

The primary responsibility of this position is to ensure accurate and timely financial management within the organization. This involves receiving and verifying invoices from field delegations, preparing and recording accounting entries in the relevant software systems, and maintaining sound bookkeeping practices with supporting documentation.

The ideal candidate will possess excellent analytical skills, be proficient in Microsoft Office applications, and have a solid understanding of ERP systems. A minimum of 3-5 years' experience in an accounting/finance position is required, preferably in an international organization or NGO.

Responsibilities:

  • Receive and verify invoices from field delegations
  • Prepare and record accounting entries in relevant software systems
  • Maintain sound bookkeeping practices with supporting documentation
  • Perform cash and bank reconciliations on a regular basis
  • Ensure accuracy and completeness of accounting transactions
  • Identify anomalies and propose solutions
  • Participate in annual and monthly closing activities
  • Apply administrative and financial procedures and deadlines

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in good standing
  • Excellent computer proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
  • Solid understanding of ERP systems, particularly JD Edwards
  • Minimum 3-5 years' experience in accounting/finance position
  • Experience in an international organization or NGO
