Draftsman – Industrial Materials

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled Draftsman to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing both rough sketches and detailed work with SolidWorks systems.

You will also be responsible for performing calculations for materials and weight limitations. This role requires strong proficiency in design software (SOLIDWORKS) for creating, modifying, and managing both 3D models and 2D drawings.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Communicate with Senior Design Engineer, and incorporate knowledge gained into drawings.
  2. Prepare, review, and redraft alongside the engineering team.
  3. Create engineering drawings and designs for production and quality control.
  4. Create design specifications, documentation, and material lists.
  5. Estimate material and production costs for designs.
  6. Verify drawings are correct to specifications, codes, and other regulations.
  7. Develop technical reports for engineers.
Qualifications
  1. Bachelor's degree in engineering.
  2. At least 1-3 years of experience in Product Development or related field.
  3. Strong mechanical, coordination, and math skills.
  4. Excellent organizational, management, and communication skills.
  5. Be self-sufficient, have excellent problem-solving skills, and work quickly with extraordinary attention to detail.
  6. Technical Skills – Able to clearly share expertise and transfer technical knowledge to others.
  7. Knowledge of industrial materials (i.e., plastics, metals, composite materials).
  8. Advanced understanding of metal and plastics fabrication (i.e., welding, chemical and mechanical fastening).
