Lead Software Engineer

As a lead software engineer, you will be responsible for leading a team of software developers in the design, development, and implementation of complex software systems. Your expertise in software development methodologies, technical leadership, and project management will guide the team towards delivering high-quality solutions that meet business requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Analyze functional specifications, requirements architecture, and challenge requirements architecture to ensure alignment with business objectives.
  • Assign tasks/defects to team members using a predefined strategy and their skillset, ensuring efficient resource allocation.
  • Ensure the team is informed and aligned about project requirements, risks, and quality, facilitating effective collaboration and decision-making.
  • Promote adherence to established principles and directions defined by senior architects, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence.
  • Prepare discovery questions, participate in meetings for lead qualification & opportunity development, and provide guidance on priority and next steps.
  • Follow up on issue defects reports, conduct historical analyses of test results, and integrate quality results into project plan updates.
  • Standardize project documentation, update documentation regarding tasks and code, and maintain accurate records of project progress.
  • Deliver timely and accurate status reports for tasks/defects by team member/component, remaining estimates, etc.
  • Validate defects reported and provide expert guidance on priority and next steps, ensuring prompt resolution.
  • Oversee the quality of team deliverables, guaranteeing alignment with business expectations.
  • Coordinate with team members to sync and assess risks and their impact on the project, identifying potential issues before they escalate.
  • Remove obstacles hindering team members' progress by providing answers or facilitating access to necessary resources.
  • Support mentoring delivery and career coaching for team members, promoting growth and development within the organization.
  • Monitor the implementation of best code review practices and facilitate peer code review activities; escalate critical problems as needed in a cross-functional environment.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Previous experience as a senior role in software development teams, with a proven track record of successful project delivery.
  • Previous experience in web development, with a strong understanding of modern front-end and back-end technologies.
  • Previous experience in eCommerce projects, with knowledge of industry-specific requirements and challenges.
  • Experience with debugging, performance profiling, and optimization techniques, ensuring efficient and scalable solutions.
  • Ability to work on multiple tasks simultaneously and switch focus quickly between them, maintaining productivity and adaptability.
  • Strong understanding of customer business needs and priorities, enabling effective solution design and delivery.
  • Good English communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex ideas clearly and concisely.
  • Comfortable with client-facing interactions, building strong relationships and driving business outcomes.
