Quality Coding Specialist

We are seeking a Quality Coding Specialist to collaborate with our internal staff in developing improved capabilities in documentation, coding, and compliance. The successful candidate will assess and review the overall quality of coding on accounts completed by Medical Coders, ensuring adherence to workflows and ethical coding.

The position requires advanced knowledge of professional coding (CPT, ICD-10-CM and HCPCS) and designing and implementing quality coding review programs. You will communicate review findings and recommendations to management, obtain statistics and necessary information to assess risk for all areas of coding, and lead a team of employees in all aspects of the job to meet objectives and maintain a positive work environment.

Key responsibilities include administering the Quality Assessment process, daily management of operational processes, acting as client contact for day-to-day operational issues, reviewing and analyzing reports and data, collaborating with workgroups to resolve issues, rewarding and disciplining employees, and documenting general reports on each team member's performance and targets.

To be successful in this role, you must possess strong verbal, written communication, interpersonal skills, analytical skills, and the ability to work in a team fostered environment. You should also have a willingness to adjust to changing job responsibilities, shifting schedules, new procedures, and unexpected workloads and stresses. Additionally, you must have an understanding and strict adherence to all HIPAA regulations.
