">Job Overview
">As an Investment Specialist at ADB, you will lead in identifying, screening, due diligence, structuring, obtaining approvals, negotiation, implementation, and closing of direct debt financing and equity investments and technical assistance programs in food and agribusiness companies across ADB's developing member countries (DMCs), with a particular focus on the financing of climate adaptation and nature-based solutions.

">You will be responsible for:

- Leading in the identification, development, and processing of transactions to be considered for ADB private sector direct agribusiness investment.">
- Nurturing active relationships with food and agribusiness companies, financiers, and advisors in the region.">
- Undertaking comprehensive financial assessment, including analysis of audited financial statements, financial modeling, credit rating for debt transactions, and valuation for equity transactions.">
- Undertaking comprehensive due diligence on market, commercial, technical, environmental, social, corporate governance, and integrity issues related to proposed transactions.">
- Structuring and negotiating proposed financial assistance, ensuring proper risk management is applied, and designing relevant technical assistance programs.">
- Presenting transaction rationale, making recommendations on proposed transaction terms to ADB's Management and Board.">
- Ensuring prompt financial closing of transactions, with legal documentation reflecting decisions of ADB's Management and Board.">
- Contributing to the development of policy and strategies for ADB's developmental goals for the private sector with focus on climate adaptation and nature-based solutions in the agribusiness sector.">
- Participating in country teams and missions for planning and programming, focusing on private sector development and operations, and identifying investment opportunities.">
- Coordinating project-related work and strategy policy matters with other departments.">
- Overseeing the performance of reporting staff and consultants, providing clear direction and regular monitoring and feedback on performance.">
Qualifications
">You will need:
">- ">
- A Master's degree in business administration or finance or relevant fields, or a university degree in related fields and at least 5 years specialized experience relevant to the position can be considered.">
- At least 8 years of relevant professional experience in corporate and project lending, investment banking, or private equity leading direct cross-border debt or equity transactions, with exposure to the agribusiness and nature capital sector in Asia.">
- Excellent financial modeling, equity valuation, corporate and project finance, and other core banking and investment skills.">
- International experience working in development in several countries.">
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.">
Benefits
">ADB offers competitive compensation and a comprehensive benefits package, including paid leave, medical and health benefits, life and other insurance plans, staff development, retirement plan, housing and education allowance (if applicable), and expatriate benefits (for international staff). The salary will be based on ADB's standards and comparator markets, taking into account your qualifications and experience, estimated around $120,000 per year.
