About the Role:

The Test Engineer position is a crucial part of our squad, accountable for planning, designing and developing manual and automation test tools, methodologies, script & execute end to end automation and manual test cases, track results, and log defects.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create comprehensive test strategies, test plans, and test scripts for both automated and manual testing.
  • Develop scalable and reliable automated tests and frameworks.
  • Contribute to implementing repeatable automated tests during sprints to ensure quality, reduce test execution time, & incorporate automated tests into CI/CD processes.
  • Plan labour needs of each sprint and product releases.
  • Collaborate with team members to drive product quality.
  • Ensure all assigned testing deliverables timelines are met within the sprint and product release.
  • Produce detailed test reports for stakeholders such as principal engineer, product owner, scrum master, & release management.
  • Liaise with business users, business analysts and engineers to ensure that any assigned defects are resolved.
  • Maintain awareness of external environments and trends in testing, contributing to process improvements.
  • Promote productivity through test automation tools, methodologies and best practices.
  • Coach and train other team members on manual and automated testing.
  • Embrace new ways of working, finding ways to continually improve, and actively participate in squad events.

 

Requirements:

  • Degree in Computer Science, Business, Economics or equivalent work experience.
  • 3+ years of software testing experience.
  • At least 3 years of automation testing experience.
  • Experience in both manual and automated testing including planning, test case design, test reporting, defect tracking, estimating and test coverage.
  • Experience working with external parties & vendors.
  • Demonstrated capability to learn and understand a business and its processes and systems in depth.
  • Experience working with Selenium, Java, Maven, & Postman.
  • Demonstrated skills with REST and SOAP webservices, & API testing.
  • Familiarity with Azure DevOps Pipelines and parallel test execution.
  • Experience testing web, mobile and windows applications.
  • Ability to work across multiple products / platforms / squads.
  • Regular use of a defect and test management system such as JIRA, Confluence & SharePoint.

 

Nice-to-Have Skills:

  • Experience with automated testing tool Playwright.
  • Prior experience in outsourced employee benefits and administration service domain.
