
Organizational Policy Governance Lead

The Policy and Compliance Specialist plays a vital role in ensuring organizational policies are current, systematically reviewed, and fully compliant with applicable standards and regulations.
This position serves as the centralized curator and coordinator of all organizational policies and procedures across all departments and functions, working cross-functionally with leadership to support organizational readiness.
Key Responsibilities- Policy Curation & Compliance Management
- Curate and maintain an indexed master library of current policies and archived versions, tracking and enforcing review cycles.
- Ensure policies reflect current practices and are compliant with laws, regulations, and accrediting standards.
- Policy Development & Stakeholder Engagement
- Draft new policies based on leadership directives or changes in regulatory requirements, distributing draft documents to stakeholders for feedback.
- Proactively follow up with team members to ensure timely input, preparing finalized documents for approval and publication.
- Regulatory Reporting Oversight
- Maintain a comprehensive calendar of required reports for licensing, funding, and accreditation entities, coordinating with assigned departments to ensure timely generation and submission.
- Track submission status and ensure accuracy and completeness of report contents.
- Governance & Compliance Meetings Coordination
- Schedule recurring meetings for compliance, quality assurance, performance improvement, and risk management, creating agendas and documenting minutes.
- Ensure required meetings occur on schedule and are documented for audits and oversight.
- Policy Inquiry Response & Gap Resolution
- Provide accurate responses and guidance to staff regarding existing policies and procedures, identifying gaps in documentation when necessary.
- Draft new policies or procedures when necessary, facilitating full review and approval processes.
- Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Public Policy, Legal Studies, or a related field (Master's preferred).
- 3-5 years of experience in compliance, regulatory affairs, or policy management within a healthcare or behavioral health organization.
- Familiarity with Joint Commission, Arizona DHS, and applicable labor and healthcare regulations.
- Strong technical writing and document control skills, with ability to work independently and cross-functionally.
- Proficient with cloud-based document systems and project tracking platforms, with experience in behavioral health or healthcare organizations.
