Electrical Engineer Position

This is a challenging role that requires strong electrical engineering skills and expertise in maintaining electrical systems.

  • Maintenance activities include preventive and corrective maintenance on farm electrical systems, controllers, and electrical equipment to ensure efficient operation and prolonged service life of machinery and equipment.
  • Assemblies, installations, testing, and maintenance of electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus, and fixtures using hand tools and power tools are essential tasks.
  • Detailed knowledge of test equipment and hand tools is necessary for diagnosing malfunctioning equipment and systems.
  • Connectors and circuit breakers need to be connected securely to transformers or other components.
  • Inspectors will identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair by inspecting electrical systems, equipment, and components ensuring compliance with codes.
  • Testing devices like mega-ohmmeters, voltmeters, or clamp meters must be used to test electrical systems and circuit continuity ensuring system safety and compatibility.
  • Ground leads and power cables need to be installed correctly connecting them to equipment like motors.
  • Conduits will be placed inside designated partitions, walls, or concealed areas pulling insulated wires or cables through to complete circuits.
  • Engineers may need to stay on-call during off-hours and rest days to maintain electrical equipment in good condition.
  • Attending to electrical repairs and other requirements across various farms is an important task.
  • Compliance with 5S activities and ISO 9001:201 standards must be ensured.
  • Improvement suggestions as part of department quality improvements (Kaizen) are welcomed.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Education: A bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Electronics & Communications Engineering is required.
  • Experience: Preferably with at least three years of related work experience.
  • Other Requirements: Working knowledge of instrumentation technology, electrical/electronics circuit design, troubleshooting, and repair; familiarity with farm technology; knowledge of panel boards and electronic device analysis and troubleshooting.
