Financial Operations Specialist

We seek a skilled accounting professional to help elevate businesses with comprehensive support.
You will assist with day-to-day financial management, reconcile accounts, process invoices, manage expenses, and handle general ledger entries.
Key Responsibilities:- Manage daily financial operations in Xero: reconcile accounts, process invoices, manage expenses, and handle general ledger entries.
- Use Dext to capture, code, and file supplier receipts and invoices; ensure digital documents are organized and audit-ready.
- Process and track accounts payable and receivable; prepare supplier payments and chase incoming payments as needed.
- Collaborate with the director to support accurate job costing: allocate materials, labour, and overhead to relevant projects.
- Reconcile bank and credit card statements regularly.
- Prepare monthly management reports: P&L, cash-flow statements, project cost summaries.
- Assist with BAS preparation and liaise with external accountants for GST and tax matters.
- Proven experience (2+ years) in accounting using Xero.
- Proficiency with Dext (or similar receipt-capturing tools).
- Strong understanding of accounting workflows: invoicing, reconciliation, tracking expenses, and job costing.
- Exceptional organisational skills and attention to detail in both financial and admin tasks.
- Comfortable working in a small, collaborative team where adaptability is key.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
