Accounts Payable Specialist

The role of an Accounts Payable Specialist involves the management of vendor payments, addressing discrepancies, and ensuring the accuracy of financial records. This individual will work closely with internal teams and vendors to ensure efficient financial transactions.
About the Position:
- The successful candidate will be responsible for verifying and approving invoices before payment, ensuring correct pricing and adherence to company policies.
- This position requires collaboration with internal teams and vendors to resolve discrepancies between invoices, purchase orders (POs), and item receipts.
- The specialist will prepare and process payments on time, ensuring vendors receive accurate amounts while maximizing early payment discounts.
- Tracking and applying vendor credits for open balances, returns, rebalances, and warranties will also be a key responsibility.
- The incumbent will establish and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to facilitate smooth and efficient financial transactions.
- A monthly review of vendor statements will be necessary to identify and resolve outstanding balances or discrepancies.
- Inputting and maintaining accurate financial records using NetSuite will ensure data integrity and compliance with accounting standards.
- Providing timely and professional responses to vendor and co-worker inquiries will also be essential.
Requirements and Qualifications:
- A high school diploma is required, with an Accounting or Business-related degree being preferred.
- 2 years of experience in Accounts Payable or a similar role involving financial operations is necessary.
- Data entry and financial system proficiency, with experience in NetSuite being a plus.
- Strong ability to identify discrepancies, verify information, and ensure financial accuracy.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a high level of proficiency in English to interact effectively with vendors and internal teams.
- A proactive mindset with a strong ability to troubleshoot and resolve payment-related issues efficiently.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize responsibilities, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- A positive attitude with a collaborative approach to working with cross-functional teams.
