About the Role

The facilities manager is responsible for overseeing building operations and maintenance. This role is part of a functional area that focuses on all aspects of asset operations, providing support to property managers regarding repairs and investment plans.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Leadership and Team Management: Supervise employees, monitor training and development, conduct performance evaluations and coaching, oversee recruiting and hiring, schedule team activities, establish work schedules, assign tasks, and cross-train staff.
  • Facility Maintenance and Repairs: Coordinate facility repairs and maintenance by working with technicians, vendors, and contractors, maintain positive relationships with clients and resolve issues through meetings.
  • Capital Projects and Budgeting: Prepare capital projects, operating budgets, and variance reports, perform facility inspections quality assurance following regulations.
  • Vendor Relationships and Safety: Oversee vendor relationships and invoicing procedures, review price quotes for procurement, manage environmental health and safety procedures, and provide training on maintenance, repairs, and safety best practices.

This position requires strong leadership skills, organizational skills, and attention to detail. The ideal candidate should have experience in staffing, selection, training, development, coaching, mentoring, measuring, appraising, and rewarding performance and retention.
