About the Position:
Overview:
We are seeking a seasoned financial expert to oversee our accounting operations. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of real estate accounting principles, including financial reporting and reconciliation.
The selected professional will lead a team of accountants, ensuring smooth financial operations, managing junior and senior accountants, supervising accounts payable and receivable, leading bank and credit card reconciliation processes, and conducting performance reviews.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee entire accounting team, manage junior and senior accountants for seamless financial operations.
- Supervise accounts payable and receivable, ensure timely and accurate transaction processing.
- Lead bank and credit card reconciliation processes, financial statement reviews, and develop financial policies.
- Conduct performance reviews, provide training, mentor team members for skill enhancement, and career growth.
- Address complex financial queries from clients, handle bookkeeping concerns, and pending transactions.
- Ensure accuracy in vendor & utility bill postings, AP pay runs, payroll processing via Intuit/Gusto.
- Oversee financial reporting, including Income Statements, Balance Sheets, and owner/investor distributions.
- Manage move-out accounting, bill backs, journal entries, accruals, and HUD statement entries.
- Coordinate management fee pulls, owner packet preparation, and collaborate with leadership to strategize financial improvements.
- Drive process improvements to enhance efficiency, reduce errors, streamline team operations, and review timesheets of team members.
Required Qualifications:
- Advanced knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and reconciliation especially with real-estate clients.
- Strong leadership and team management abilities, excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
- High attention to detail and accuracy in financial record-keeping, strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and cloud-based accounting software, experience in QuickBooks Online is mandatory, Yardi is a plus.
- Ability to handle pressure and meet deadlines efficiently, adaptability to a multicultural work environment.
