U.S. Accounting Professional

We are seeking an experienced accounting professional to lead our U.S. accounting operations.
The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing accounting policies and procedures, managing day-to-day accounting tasks, and overseeing full-cycle month-end closes for multiple U.S. clients across various industries.
This role requires direct ownership over close processes and regular interaction with clients.
Collaboration with finance and accounting teams is essential, providing oversight and mentorship within the team across multiple clients.
You will be exposed to and eventually lead additional areas of responsibility, such as financial planning and analysis.
Key Responsibilities- Vendor Management and Accounts Payable
- Review invoices for proper coding and provide guidance to staff members
- Process invoices after client approval
- Oversee 1099 checks on a quarterly basis
- Accounts Receivable and Cash Management
- Oversee accounts receivable cycle
- Review weekly cash flow forecasts and communicate changes/differences
- Monitor cash flow and make recommendations to clients
- Daily Bookkeeping Tasks
- Manage weekly transaction cycles
- Maintain organization of data room
- People Development and Support
- Facilitate transitioning support staff on clients
- Review and approve payroll processing in accordance with the client's payroll schedule(s)
- Month-End Close Procedures
- Review bank and credit card reconciliations
- Lead month-end close procedures in accordance with the month-end close checklist, ensuring all deadlines are met
- Review monthly balance sheet schedules and disposition discrepancies, advise on necessary adjusting entries
- Investigate variances and make journal entry corrections as needed
- Perform month-over-month flux analysis and document findings
- Draft monthly reporting package for Client Lead
- Compliance and Risk Management
- Review compliance filings, such as licensing and corporate insurance
- Assist accountants with preparation of annual tax returns and audits
- Manage year-end 1099 filings
- Communication and Team Collaboration
- Work cross-functionally with the organization to support ad-hoc requests
- Maintain thoughtful, timely, and proactive communication with clients and team members
- Manage accounting inboxes, responding to escalated inquiries where needed

- Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, or Finance required
- 5+ years of relevant U.S. work experience
- CPA and/or MBA is a plus
- Experience in QuickBooks Online, Netsuite, or similar system required
- Experience in an ERP system highly preferred
- Advanced Excel skills required
- Experience in eCommerce highly preferred
- Experience with inventory accounting required
- Ability to work efficiently and engage in a remote environment
- Ability to plan ahead and anticipate personal, client, and team needs
- Work during client business hours
- Balance multiple priorities, clients, and functions while maintaining month-end close responsibilities
- High comfort level working with many cloud-based technology tools
- Organize deliverables logically and maintain cleanliness
- Excellent communication skills and business acumen
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
