Job Summary

We seek a professional Tax Accountant to handle various accounting tasks including tax returns, document collection, bookkeeping, research, reconciliation and budgeting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare personal and business tax returns using established templates and guidelines.
  • Contact clients for required information or documents to complete returns.
  • Conduct independent research on necessary laws prior to submitting returns.
  • Provide tax projections and planning services for clients, determining tax liability, salary requirements, payroll liabilities and estimated payments.
  • Handle correspondences with tax authorities, preparing payment plans, powers of attorney, S Elections and State registrations.
  • Perform external bookkeeping, adjusting balance sheets, handling year-end adjustments and providing QuickBooks support.
  • Review monthly and quarterly bookkeeping, updating lists and preparing W-2s, W-3s, 1099s and 1096 at year-end.
  • Adhere to established policies and procedures, meeting project deadlines within allocated timeframe.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance-related field.
  • Proficient in tax and accounting software/tools including Microsoft Word, Excel, QuickBooks and CCH Access/ProFX Tax.
  • Licensed as a certified public accountant is advantageous.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with aptitude in data management, analytics and reporting preparation.
