Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Software Expert to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to work on next-generation open source virtualisation technology and be part of a dynamic team that invests in innovative solutions.

About the Role

This role involves designing, specifying and building new features for our virtualisation platform. You will engage with upstream communities, conduct security analysis and reviews, create performance benchmarks, collaborate with a distributed team and write high-quality code to meet the requirements of this challenging position.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and specify new features, ensuring they meet the needs of the business
  • Engage with upstream communities to build relationships and gather knowledge
  • Conduct thorough security analysis and reviews to ensure the highest standards of defence in depth
  • Create and monitor performance benchmarks to optimise the product
  • Collaborate effectively with colleagues across different locations
  • Write high-quality code to create new features and maintain existing ones
  • Debug issues and produce high-quality code to fix them
  • Review code produced by other engineers to ensure consistency and quality
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Exceptional skills and experience working on open source virtualisation technology
  • A strong academic track record, preferably in Computer Science or a related field
  • An undergraduate degree from a reputable institution
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with colleagues
  • Curiosity, flexibility and accountability
