Electrical Estimator Role

We are seeking a skilled Electrical Engineer to join our team in reviewing construction drawings, performing quantity takeoffs, and compiling accurate material and labor estimates for electrical projects. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of electrical systems, materials, and installation methods.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Review electrical plans, specifications, and addenda to understand project scope and objectives.
  • Perform detailed electrical quantity takeoffs for devices, wiring, conduits, panels, switchgear, lighting, and other systems to ensure accuracy and precision.
  • Utilize digital takeoff tools to measure and quantify materials, streamlining the estimation process.
  • Prepare organized takeoff sheets and data for the estimating team to facilitate collaboration and decision-making.
  • Cultivate effective working relationships with senior estimators to clarify scope and resolve drawing discrepancies, ensuring seamless project execution.
  • Track and maintain comprehensive project takeoff files, fostering transparency and accountability.
  • Update estimating workbooks with vendor quotes and revised quantities, guaranteeing up-to-date information for informed business decisions.
Requirements:
  • Licensed Electrical Engineer with a strong foundation in electrical estimating, takeoffs, or drafting.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in electrical estimating, takeoffs, or drafting, with a proven track record of delivering high-quality results.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical blueprints, one-line diagrams, and panel schedules is essential for success in this role.
  • Experience with digital takeoff software is highly desirable, as it enables efficient and accurate measurement and quantification.
  • Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal, are required for effective collaboration and stakeholder engagement.
  • High attention to detail and ability to work independently, with minimal supervision, are crucial for delivering exceptional results in this role.
